Schefflera Digitata - Seeds and Germination
Germination of the Schefflera seeds is usually around 25%,
so if we want a plant we will have to sow at least 4 seeds.
These seeds don't have a hard skin, so they don't need any previous treatment.
The ideal substrate is a mixture of sand and black peat in equal parts.
Mix and water it well. Drain the mixture, pressing to expel all the water.
The soil has to be wet but no waterlogged.
Fill with the soil the container chosen to sow the seeds
Put the seeds on the substrate, leaving two cm between them.
Cover with a layer of soil equal to the thickness of the seed.
Spray them with warm water. You can also mix the water with fungicide.
The seeds may take 25-30 days to germinate under perfect conditions.
For all that time we have to keep constant moisture and temperature.
In order to improve germination, the temperature should be around 21-25ºC.
