Carludovica Palmata - Rotundifolia - Seeds and Germination

These seeds have no special problems on its germination.
If we follow few steps, we can have this beautiful palm in 15-30 days.

Previous Treatment
These seeds don't have a hard skin, so they don't need any previous treatment.
There's a way to ease the germination. We can put the seeds in a wet cloth for 12 hours and after that let the seeds dry off for 12 hours. It must be done in a dark place and you can repeat it until the seeds get thicker.

The ideal substrate is a mixture of sand and black  peat in equal parts.
Mix and water it well. Drain the mixture, pressing to expel all the water.
The soil has to be wet but no waterlogged.
Fill with the soil the container chosen to sow the seeds

Put the seeds on the substrate, leaving two cm between them.
Cover with a very thin layer of soil.
Spray them with warm water.

The seeds may take 15-30 days to germinate under perfect conditions.
For all that time we have to keep constant moisture and temperature.
In order to improve germination, the temperature should be around 22ºC.
