Pachypodium Lamerei - Seeds and Germination
Pachypodium Lamerei Seeds
We can grow this beautiful plant easily from seeds. If we give it all what it needs, we will have a plant in less than a month.
We just have to scarify the seed in warm water for 24 hours.
The ideal substrate isa mixture of 4 parts coarse sand, 2 parts milled peat, 1 part perlite and 1 part sterile potting soil.
Mix and water it well. Drain the mixture, pressing to expel all the water.
The soil has to be wet but no waterlogged.
Fill with the soil the container chosen to sow the seeds.
Put the seeds on the substrate, leaving two cm between them.
Cover with a layer of soil equal to the thickness of the seed.
The seeds may take 6-30 days to germinate under perfect conditions.
For all that time we have to keep constant moisture and temperature.
Arrange the pots on a heating mat and cover them with a loose sheet of clear plastic wrap. Place the mat near a large window with unfiltered sun. Set the temperature on the warming mat to around 25ºC.
